Frequently Asked Questions about e-Signature These are the most frequently asked questions and answers about e-Signature. Please feel free to ask us if your particular question isn’t listed here and we’ll respond directly.
What is electronic signature (e-Signature?) |
NWFWMD’s electronic signature is a process that allows you to electronically “sign” a legal document, such as your application for a permit. Rather than fill out a paper application or compliance report, sign it in ink, and send it through U.S. mail, e-Sign allows users to quickly and easily complete their applications and compliance reporting online. The entire e-Sign process is efficient and secure and allows you to print a paper version of your application for your records once you are finished.
What are electronic signatures? |
Electronic signatures are the electronic equivalents of written signatures; they allow businesses to sign documents and carry out business transactions electronically. They provide assurance that the authors and signatories of e-mails or electronic files are who they claim to be.
What are the benefits of e-Signing? |
e-Signing your application is a faster and more convenient way to complete the permitting and compliance process. By electronically signing your application you avoid having to print, sign, and mail in your application, thereby shortening the time needed to process your permit.
Terms and Conditions |
Electronic signatures are legally valid and recognized by law. Typing your name, selecting "Agree," and clicking submit is the electronic equivalent of signing your name. By creating this account for the submission of permit or submitting compliance data, you agree to conduct these transactions (applying for a permit or submitting compliance data online) electronically. However, you have the right to refuse to conduct other transactions with the district electronically and are not restricted to this method of permit application or compliance data submittal. The electronic transaction will not be completed until the electronic application is received by the District in a manner capable of being stored and printed by the District. If you inhibit the ability of the District to store or print the electronic application or compliance data, then the submittal will be considered to have not been received by the District. Upon the District's successful receipt of the electronic application, the District will send you a confirmation e-mail. We recommend that you keep the confirmation e-mail as a record of your submittal and as a referral for future communication with the District.
