Description: This GIS layer represents approxximately 427,897 acres in 38 counties in Florida that have been delineated for groundwater contamination. Of these areas, the majority are delineated for EDB contamination with a few additional areas delineated for solvents and gasoline. However, this GIS layer does not represent all known sources of groundwater contamination for the state of Florida.
Description: The WUP Boundary dataset identifies the operational extent of a WUP permit. More than one parcel or facility may be operated under one permit. All pertinent parcels should be aggragated into one polygon. Per the Applicant's Handbook:Two or more properties represented by their owners to be separate properties shall be aggregated and treated as a single property for permitting purposes when the District determines that the properties are physically proximate and either share the same infrastructure or are operated as a common enterprise. However, when multiple use types, as defined in section 40A-2.501, F.A.C., are served by separate withdrawal or diversion facilities, the District has the authority to issue separate Individual Water Use Permits.
Description: This data represents Environmental Resource Permit (ERP) applications. Data is supplied by the permit applicant and permitted by the Northwest Florida Water Management District. This layer refers to permitting rules section 373.430 F.S., and 18 U.S.C. Section 1001. The applicant fills out a form 40C-4.900(1) and supplies the district with a location map of the project boundaries. In order to avoid undue hardship to the applicant, there are few restrictions on the type and quality of the map the applicant must supply. The location maps the applicant supplies are generally 1:24,000 USGS quadrangles, or in some cases digital orthographic quadrangle maps are provided.
Description: Special Construction Criteria Areas (SCCAs) in the Northwest Florida Water Management District. See Supplemental Information in the Details section for important details about each SCCA. In the layer, the field FAC_Section lists the Florida Administrative Code section applicable to each SCCA.

Description: Northwest Florida Water Management District (District) has been delegated responsibility for the permitting of construction of water wells within the District's jurisdictional boundaries. The District has developed a set of rules addressing the construction requirements for wells and these rules are incorporated into Chapter 40A-3, Florida Administrative Code. The grouting requirements for the construction of water wells within the District were modified by the Department of Environmental Protection in a letter dated September 10, 1980. This DEP letter created the Grout Line.

Description: Water Management Districts in Florida are mandated by the Florida Statutes to ensure adequate supply of water and water resources for all citizens and natural features, provide protection and improvement of natural systems and water quality, and minimize harm to water resources. Water Management Districts have the regulatory authority for well construction, drilling, and abandonment decisions. The DEP issued an exemption to the grouting rules of the District in a letter dated September 10, 1980. Under this exemption grouting requirements associated with the construction of wells determined to be "north" of the Grout Line were relaxed and grouting requirements for wells completed into the limestone aquifer south of the Grout Line were not relaxed. These grouting requirements were incorporated into section 40A-3.517, Florida Administrative Code.
For permitting and planning purposes the Northwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board has designated areas where resource concerns exist related to water availability, water quality, high anticipated growth in demand, or other factors. In Areas of Resource Concern (ARC) special permitting rules apply for withdrawal of water from both ground and surface water resources for consumptive use permitting. These areas include portions of Bay and Gadsden counties delineated on the map contained in Rule 40A-2.902, Florida Administrative Code. Special permitting rules apply for these areas details about which can be found in the RULES OF THE NORTHWEST FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT CHAPTER 40A-2, FLORIDA ADMINISTRATIVE CODE https://www.flrules.org/gateway/ChapterHome.asp?Chapter=40A-2
Description: Water Management Districts in Florida are mandated by the Florida Statutes to ensure adequate supply of water and water resources for all citizens and natural features, provide protection and improvement of natural systems and water quality, and minimize harm to water resources. Water Management Districts have the regulatory authority for well construction, drilling, and abandonment decisions. For permitting and planning purposes Northwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board has designated areas where water supply and quality are at a disadvantage compared to the current and future demand. In Water Resource Caution Areas special permitting rules apply for withdrawal of water from both ground and surface water resources for consumptive use permitting. These areas include coastal areas of Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties and the upper Telogia Creek drainage basin in Gadsden County (Rule 40A-2.802 Florida Administrative Code). These are areas where fresh water resources are currently experiencing significant shortage of supply or will experience reduction in supply in the future due to natural or man-made causes, e.g. salt water intrusion, mineralization, upcoming of lower quality of water, contamination from human activity etc.(Section 40A-2.801 FAC). Special permitting rules apply for these areas details about which can be found in the RULES OF THE NORTHWEST FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT CHAPTER 40A-2, FLORIDA ADMINISTRATIVE CODE at http://www.nwfwmd.state.fl.us/permits/rules/ch40a2.pdf
